Dr. Paul B. Stringfellow was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. After graduating from Acadiana High School in 1984, he attended LSU in Baton Rouge. He majored in Pre-med and completed his bachelor's degree in biology at LSU in Shreveport and ultimately attending medical school in Shreveport as well at LSUMC. Following graduation from medical school he completed an internship year and later a residency in Family Practice. During his final year of residency at LSUMC, Dr. Stringfellow was elected chief resident of Family Practice. In 1997 he began his private medical practice in Crowley along with Dr. Karrie Kilgore.
Dr. Stringfellow met Mrs. Kim Stringfellow in Shreveport in a clinical laboratory while working for Kim's father. They dated for 4 years before they were married in 1992. They have lived in Crowley for the last twenty-four years whereupon they raised sons, Benjamin and Joseph. Both sons were recently married. Joseph married Madeline, formerly Doucet and Benjamin married Amber, formerly Hayes. Dr. Stringfellow is extremely proud of his sons and daughters-in-law and delights in watching them pursue their future careers.
Dr. Stringfellow is board certified in Family medicine and is a member of the AAFP and the LAFP. He has served as president of the Acadia Parish Medical Society as well as chief of medicine at Acadia General Hospital. Additionally, he is the team doctor for the Notre Dame high school football team, which is useful for is interest in sports medicine.
Regarding other interests, Dr. Stringfellow opened the first lab for Sleep Medicine in Crowley which later merged with Our Lady of Lourdes Sleep Center. He was pleased to continue his work in sleep medicine and with his sleep apnea patients with Lourdes in addition to treating his patients in his clinic and at the hospital. He continues to treat all ages of patients and values the doctor patient relationships that have developed.
Dr. Stringfellow's wife also works at The Family Practice Clinic of Crowley. She is a medical assistant and facilitates with quality assurance, ordering medical supplies and aiding with Dr. Stringfellows schedule among other things. In her spare time, she in an Alderwoman for the city of Crowley.
Mrs. Kim delights in joining her husband on the football field as his nurse for the Notre Dame high school football games. They also enjoy traveling and exercising in addition to being with family.
